Rooted in Over a Century of Faith-Based Service
From a small 1978 dispensary to a trusted health centre, our mission continues: We Treat, Jesus Heals.
The story of Nyamigisa Health Centre is anchored in the evangelism of the White Fathers, who established the Catholic faith at Nyamigisa Catholic Parish as early as 1911. In 1975, with few health services available in the area, they began dispensing medicines for common illnesses, and in 1978 a small dispensary was formally started.
From those humble beginnings, the health centre has grown into a trusted provider of outpatient, inpatient, maternity, laboratory and outreach services. Yet the heart of the work remains unchanged: to preach the word of God, fight illiteracy, and improve the health of the community, especially the poor and vulnerable. We treat; Jesus heals.
